Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 September 2026
These Terms apply to your use of mapssy.com. They explain what Mapssy does, what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
1. About these Terms
Mapssy (mapssy.com) is operated by Jozef Olbert, Slovakia. Mapssy is co-owned by Jozef Olbert and Maximilian Sopuch. For help, accounts and billing, email [email protected]. For legal, privacy and press questions, email [email protected].
By using Mapssy you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Mapssy. Mapssy Pro is sold to you by Link, Stripe’s payment service, as reseller (merchant of record): Link is the seller on the checkout, your receipt and your bank statement, and the purchase terms shown at checkout apply to the sale and the payment. We provide the Pro features to you under these Terms.
2. What Mapssy does
Mapssy compares one driving route across Google Maps, Apple Maps and Waze and shows the estimated driving time, distance and arrival time for each. From a result you can open the route in that app with one tap. You can compare routes without an account.
- Google Maps times come live from the Google Maps Platform Routes API at the moment you compare.
- Apple Maps and Waze times are Mapssy’s own estimates, calculated from the Google result, because Waze has no public routing service and the Mapssy website does not use Apple’s (which needs an Apple developer account). They are labelled as estimates. In the Mapssy iPhone app, Apple Maps times come from Apple itself.
3. Estimates, not guarantees
Travel times, distances and routes are indications only. Traffic changes all the time, so an app you open a few minutes later can show a different time, and the data from our providers can be incomplete or wrong.
Drive safely. Always follow road signs, traffic laws and the actual conditions on the road, and do not use Mapssy while driving in a way that distracts you. Decisions about your trip are your own.
4. Accounts
- An account is optional. You need one only for Mapssy Pro and account features.
- Mapssy is not directed at children under 16. You must be at least 16 to create an account.
- You must be 18 or older, or have a parent’s or guardian’s permission, to buy Mapssy Pro.
- Give a correct email address, keep your password secret, and tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else is using your account.
- You can delete your account at any time under Settings. Deleting your account does not cancel an active Pro subscription, so cancel it first (see below).
5. Mapssy Pro
Mapssy Pro is an optional paid plan that adds the features described on the Pro page, currently search history and the fastest-to-slowest ranking of results. Comparing routes stays free.
- Buying Pro. New purchases are paused while we set up our company; existing subscriptions continue under these Terms.
- Free invitations. We may give a person free Pro for a limited time through a personal, one-time invitation link. It costs nothing, needs no payment details and ends by itself on the date shown; it is not a contract to buy Pro.
- Plans. Pro is offered as a monthly or yearly subscription and, when offered, as Lifetime Pro for a single payment. Current prices are shown on the Pro page. The final price, including any VAT, is shown at checkout before you pay.
- Free trial. Monthly and yearly subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial if you have never had a Mapssy Pro subscription before. You give a payment method at checkout, but you are not charged during the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and the first payment is taken.
- Renewal. Subscriptions have no minimum term. They renew automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time with Manage subscription on the Pro page (Stripe’s customer portal) or in your Link account. Cancelling stops future renewals. Pro normally stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and cancelling does not by itself refund that period. Your statutory rights, including the right of withdrawal below, are not affected.
- Lifetime Pro. A single payment that does not renew. It gives your account Pro for as long as Mapssy offers the Pro service.
- Payment. Pro is sold through Stripe’s Managed Payments service, with Link, Stripe’s payment service, as the reseller (merchant of record). The checkout, your receipts and your bank statement show the purchase as sold through Link. Stripe (through Link) takes the payment, calculates and collects any VAT, sends receipts and invoices, and helps with payment and refund questions; the purchase terms shown at checkout apply to the sale and the payment. We provide the Pro features.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will retry it. Pro stays active while it does, and ends if the subscription ends unpaid.
- Defects. For as long as we supply Pro to you, we are responsible for any defect in it that occurs or becomes apparent during that time (§ 852h(2) Slovak Civil Code). Report it to [email protected].
- Price changes. If we want to raise the price of your subscription, we will email you at least 30 days before your next renewal. The new price applies only if you do not cancel before that renewal; cancelling costs nothing and Pro stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
6. Your right of withdrawal (EU)
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your Pro contract within 14 days of the day the contract is concluded (the day you start your subscription, your free trial or your Lifetime purchase), without giving any reason.
The easiest way to withdraw is our withdrawal function: Withdraw from contract here. You find it at the bottom of every page and on the Pro page. Enter your name, your email address and your order or receipt number (or your account email), check your details and press Confirm withdrawal. We immediately email you a copy of your notice with the date and time.
You can also send a clear statement before the 14 days end to us at [email protected] or to Link support (support.link.com). You can use the model form below, but you do not have to. Writing from your account’s email address helps us find your purchase quickly.
Pro is a digital service that starts as soon as you buy it or start your free trial. We do not currently ask you at checkout to request that Pro starts during the withdrawal period, so if you withdraw within the 14 days, you get back everything you paid for that purchase. If you withdraw during the free trial, you pay nothing.
We will make sure any refund is issued through Stripe (Link) within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal, to the payment method you used. Your rights under the consumer law of your country are not affected.

7. Acceptable use
You may use Mapssy for your own trips. Please do not:
- scrape Mapssy, query it automatically, or use bots, scripts or other automated means to use the route tool, search or forms;
- call our
/apiendpoints from anywhere other than the Mapssy website, or try to get around limits, the Turnstile check or other security measures; - copy, store, resell or build a product or database from the results, the route data or the map data;
- attempt to disrupt, overload or break into Mapssy or its providers;
- send spam or unlawful content through our forms, or use Mapssy for anything unlawful.
To keep the service running, we may limit how many requests we answer, for example with a daily limit on route comparisons.
8. Google Maps content
Mapssy includes Google Maps features and content: the travel times, the place search and the map on the results page. Use of Google Maps features and content is subject to the then-current versions of the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
9. Other third-party services
- When you open a route in Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze, that app’s or website’s own terms apply.
- Ads on our content pages come from Google AdSense. Affiliate links, when shown, are labelled and marked as sponsored; if you buy through them, your contract is with that provider.
- We are not responsible for the content of websites we link to.
10. Intellectual property
The Mapssy name, logo, design, texts and code belong to Mapssy’s owners. Map data, route data and the trademarks “Google Maps”, “Apple Maps”, “Waze” and “TomTom” belong to their respective owners. Mapssy is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google, Apple, Waze or TomTom.
11. Availability and changes to the service
Mapssy is a small, independent service. We work to keep it available, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free, and our providers can be unavailable too. We may change, add or remove features and providers. We may change Pro for good reasons, such as a provider change, security or legal requirements. If a change to Pro harms your access to or use of it more than slightly, we will tell you by email in advance, and you may end your Pro contract free of charge within 30 days of our notice or of the change, whichever is later; we then refund the unused part of any period you paid for.
12. Liability
We are liable for damage under the Slovak Civil Code. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability to you where the law does not allow it, including for death or injury to health, or your rights if Pro is defective. Travel times are estimates by nature (section 3); a difference between an estimate and your actual trip is not a defect.
13. Ending your use
You can stop using Mapssy and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these Terms. We will tell you why, unless the law prevents it.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example when Mapssy or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change affects an active Pro subscription to your disadvantage, we will tell you by email before it applies, and you can cancel before then.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of the Slovak Republic. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you habitually live (Art. 6(2) Rome I Regulation). You can bring proceedings in the courts of Slovakia or of the country where you live; we can bring proceedings against you only in the courts of the country where you live.
16. Complaints and out-of-court dispute resolution
If you are a consumer and are not happy with Mapssy or Pro, please first send us a request for redress at [email protected]. If we reject your request or do not answer it within 30 days of sending, you can submit a proposal for alternative dispute resolution to:
- the Slovak Trade Inspection (Slovenská obchodná inšpekcia), Odbor medzinárodných vzťahov a alternatívneho riešenia spotrebiteľských sporov, Bajkalská 21/A, P. O. BOX 29, 827 99 Bratislava 27, [email protected], www.soi.sk/sk/alternativne-riesenie-spotrebitelskych-sporov.soi; or
- another competent body on the European Commission’s list of dispute resolution bodies: consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu.
