About Mapssy

Mapssy is a small, independent website that compares one car trip across Google Maps, Apple Maps and Waze, side by side, and opens the route in the app you choose.

Who runs Mapssy

Mapssy is built by Jozef Olbert and Maximilian Sopuch, and operated from Slovakia by Jozef Olbert. It is independent: it isn't affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Google, Apple, Waze or TomTom, and their names are used only to say whose answer you're looking at.

Why it exists

Navigation apps often disagree about the same trip. One might say 45 minutes and another 38, and checking each app in turn takes longer than most drivers want to spend before setting off. Mapssy asks them together and shows the answers next to each other.

How the numbers work

Google Maps times come live from Google's own routing service. Waze has no public routing service and the website doesn't ask Apple Maps, so on the website Mapssy estimates those two and labels them clearly; the iPhone app asks Apple Maps directly. Google Maps and Waze open at the point Mapssy timed; on the website, Apple Maps gets the place names and picks its own point.

How we write our guides

  • Every price, rule and date comes from an official or clearly reliable source, listed at the end of the guide with the date it was checked.
  • Guides never show travel times from Google, Apple, Waze or TomTom: their terms don't allow storing or republishing them. For today's times, each route guide links to a live comparison.
  • We don't invent experiences, reviews or numbers.
  • Guides are researched and drafted with the help of AI tools and checked against their sources before they're published. If you spot a mistake, tell us and we'll correct it.

How Mapssy is paid for

Every comparison costs money, because Google charges for its route, search and map data. Pro subscriptions and Google AdSense ads on content pages such as the guides pay for it. The route tool shows no ads, and Pro members see none anywhere. Some pages may carry clearly marked partner links. We don't sell data.

Privacy

You don't need an account to compare routes, and Mapssy's servers don't store your trips (with Pro, your recent searches are kept on your own device). Your location is only used when you tap “Use my location”. In Europe, Google asks for your consent before personalised ads; you can change your choice any time under “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page.
